Your First Visit

Well, you can expect a warm and courteous greeting by one of our Professional Bridal Consultants shortly after you arrive! The consultant will probably ask whether or not you have an appointment. If you made an appointment, we will be sure to have a fitting room and a consultant assigned to you and any guests attending with you. If you are just stopping in, no worries! We’ll do everything we can to accomodate you.

Basics

Your consultant will take just a few moments to explain how the store is arranged and where our gowns are located. She will ask you about your wedding and assist you in completing a very simple bridal registry form. She’ll want to know if this is your first time trying on gowns and if you have a favorite dress style or designer in mind. This will help the consultant get a sense of your personal style and the ideas you are already putting together for your wedding plans. She will also ask if you need a strapless bra with which to try on gowns; we have lots of sizes available.

Shopping

Your consultant will then let you browse our gown selection and choose some that you would like to try. She will probably make a few suggestions, too. Our suggestions are usually based on your descriptions of what you like, a gown that we know would look fabulous on your body shape or your price range, if you’ve mentioned it. September’s Bride carries an array of gorgeous gowns with varying price ranges sure to accomodate most every bride.

Time to Try On!

Once there are several gowns ready in your fitting room, it’s time to start trying them on!  We have a gorgeous fitting area upstairs in our store which is reserved for appointments. Your “entourage” may relax while we offer as much or as little help as you desire. Your consultant will be nearby with ready hands, clips, and tips. Trying on gowns at September’s Bride is fun and pressure-free. We want you to enjoy yourself and feel beautiful!

Decision Making Time

Expect to be with us for a while (usually up to an hour and a half) if it’s your first time trying on gowns. We understand and know that there are many, many styles and gowns to choose from. This is why it is important for you to invite the people whose opinions you respect and trust but who also understand that the decision is truly yours. That extra set of eyes can be helpful, but try to limit the number of people who come with you. (Even though we know how excited you are to share this time with all of your friends and family!) Too many opinions can overwhelm you and lead to a less than ideal experience. Feedback is good. Remember, it is your wedding, so you should make the final decision after careful consideration of your choices. Making your final decision doesn’t have to be stressful. Trust your own instincts. You have likely been visualizing this day for some time!
